Sandy Run Regional Park

10450 Van Thompson Road, Fairfax Station, VA 22039

Most of the Wakefield Crew Team Regattas take place at the Sandy Run Regional Park on the Occoquan Reservoir.

Sandy Run Regional Park offers a beautiful setting for the competitive races.

Parking
VASRA has a parking fee which in the 2018 season was $20 for every vehicle that enters the park.
On large regatta days, there may be overflow parking which requires a shuttle ride into the park.
Status of the parking lots can be followed on Twitter @VASRAParking.

Best Place to Watch the Races
Its about a 20 minute walk for hilly terrain on a trail thru the woods to get to the grandstand (finish line) from the parking area.  Sturdy walking shoes are recommended.

There is a shuttle from the parking area to the grandstand area as well. There may be a small per person fee for use of the shuttle.

Food, Drink, Vendors
Several vendors are located near the finish line with food, drink, tee shirts, and other memorabilia.
Additionally, there are a few vendors located at the bottom of the hill where the boats are launched.

Pets
Pets are not allowed on regatta days.

Race Schedule and Results
The Virginia Scholastic Rowing Association (VASRA) puts a race schedule up on www.Vasra.org/home. Additionally the information can be found on twitter @VASRAResults.

Volunteers

Parents volunteering for a VASRA job need to sign in at the white tent at the bottom of the hill near the headquarters.
