David Noyes is the Girls Varsity Coach. David was a 4 year varsity rower at George Mason University, making the finals at the ACRA National Championships in 2014. He has been coaching high school rowing in the DC area since 2011.
David is still rowing actively with Capital Rowing Club, but most of his time on the water is spent coaching.
Russell Topp is the Freshman/Novice Coach. He has been teaching new rowers how to take strokes since 2011. Russell also actively coaches with DC Strokes Rowing Club and Capital Rowing Club. His 10 year coxing career culminating in a Gold Medal at Nationals in 2012 with the New York Athletic Club.
Eliot Voelker started rowing in college over in the UK, quickly becoming addicted to the sport, and carried on rowing through his master's. He made it up to his college's 1st 8 and went through nearly every seat in all boats, including the coxswain seat after he sustained a back injury.
Since graduating university, rather than trying to continue squeezing his 6' frame into a corner of a boat, he decided to spread out into coaching, and has enjoyed every minute on the water doing so.
